“Evidently a work without the gaze of the spectator does not make much sense. It is the part that closes the circle”.
Galería Elvira González opens the season on 12 September with the sixth exhibition in the gallery of the sculptor Juan Asensio (Cuenca, 1959).
This exhibition brings together thirteen works in which there are small format marbles and large sculptures of stainless steel and aluminum. This material is a novelty in the production of Asensio working it sometimes laminated and others cast and skated.
The exhibition delves into the study of different forms of geometric origin that derive towards organic forms reminiscent of forms of nature.
Nevertheless the work is fundamentally abstract. There is therefore no imitation of nature but an approach to it through geometric abstraction.
