Elena del Rivero takes part in the RE-ACTION project
RE-ACTION brings together 28
international women artists to create a series of consecutive interventions.
The project emerges from historic images by Duchenne
de Boulogne, August Sander, Eugène Atget and Maurice Guibert, masters of
photography. Using these works, artists Su Alonso and Inés Marful, create new images
by intervening them and altering their meaning. Each of the resulting works is
handed to another artist who will again interpret and work on them, and then to
another, consequently boosting a machinery of succeeding aesthetic messages, all
created by women. The intervention results are retouched photos, installations,
audios, videos and projections. The final message is to offer an alternative
vision of Art History, which has traditionally been dominated by male artists.
RE-ACTION is exhibited simultaneously at Museo Barjola
(Derivas 1, 2, 6, 7 and 8), and at sala LAUDEO, University of Oviedo (Derivas, 3, 4 and 5).
